              Sardar Patel                                             Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel   Born    : 31 October 1875 Death  : 15 December 1950 Award :  Bharat Ratna                    P atel was born in Nadiad,District Kheda, Gujarat. He attended primary school at Karamasad and high school at Petlad but was mainly self-taught. Patel married at the age of 16 with Jhaverba Patel, matriculated at 22, and passed the district pleader’s examination, which enabled him to practice law. He has a two children  Dahyabhai and Maniben. Vallabhbhai was a successful lawyer. He subsequently organised peasants from Kheda, Borsad, and Bardoli in Gujarat in non-violent civil disobedience against the British Raj, becoming one of the most influential leaders in Gujarat.   ...
